Last Friday Alex took me on a "secret" date.
He told me to dress casually, and then casually asked me if the air mattress was still in the trunk of my car. I told him yes, and acted clueless about the date.
On Friday he "surprised" me at work when he showed up to "get something out of my car".
So when I got back from work, I ignored my dad's '72 Chevy sitting in the driveway with an air mattress all blown up. I walked right past it, gave Alex a hug, and asked him if we'd be eating pizza for dinner. Because, obviously that's what you should have on secret dates.
Then we jumped in the truck, bought ourselves some flatizza's from Subway, (which, by the way, I have decided I hate that name. Flatizza? Ew. Shivers down my spine. However, it was delicious) and got on the freeway toward our destination of the Drive-In Movie!!!!!
I love drive-in movies. It feels kind of like camping, because you get to lay in sleeping bags (if you're like us) and eat a bunch of junk food. And then the movie screen turns on when it gets dark and for some reason that's like the epitome of summer to me.
Not to mention, the last time we went to a drive-in together, Alex held my hand for the first time... awwwwwww!!!!
p.s. we saw How to Train Your Dragon 2 and X-Men, and HTTYD was really really cute. X-Men was like your typical X-Men movie where everything is kind of so-so and Wolverine saves the day.
Uhm, Flatizzas taste AWESOME. Who knew!? If only I could walk away from picking one up from Subway without actually smelling like Subway! :)
