grandma, abi, grandpa, and... boat driver. |
I hope you all enjoyed my little video yesterday! No one commented, but I'm sure you were all riveted by the future oscar-winning masterpiece I created. And yes, the video told the truth. I am going to England in the month of August.
Four years ago, the picture above was taken. It is one of my favorite pictures of all time for many reasons. The location of this pictures is Copenhagen, Denmark. We were taking a boat ride, and we weren't getting on the boat quick enough. This is probably because I was taking the picture. This is the only time I have ventured out of the country. It was to visit my grandparents while they were serving their second mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Now they are on their third mission in... you guessed it... England. Ever since they left it has been a dream of mine to find a way to visit them. And on Sunday afternoon, during our Sunday dinner, my parents told us they had something to tell us. My mom started off with, "On August 6, I will be boarding an airplane. And I will not be alone." We sat up straighter. We made direct eye contact. We crossed our fingers behind our backs that she was taking us with her. Wherever she was going. "I'll be boarding a plan to the Heathrow Airport. And my daughters will be with me."
And then, we all simultaneously burst into tears.
p.s. anyone have any recommendations of what to do while we're there?
do everything! nothing can be missed.

ReplyDeleteShopping on Oxford street, and you HAVE to go to Soho. It's so eccentric and weird, sometimes creepy but AWESOME with its clothes and crafts shops and cafes. Go to Westminster Abbey - it's more beautiful inside than you could ever have imagined. Take the tube and enjoy the classical music at the stations!
