boys these days! can't live with them, can't live without them!

All I really think about during the day is sleeping. I'm not sure if this is healthy or not. It's obviously NOT a sign of not getting enough sleep. But what can I say? Life is pretty good lately, and sometimes it's worth staying awake for.

I've taken to writing down quick notes in my phone for things I'd like to blog about. This is good, but also sometimes confusing, especially if I can't remember what I was actually thinking. But here's this thought for you all today:

Note in Phone: Do boys think like the songs?

I think what I was trying to get at here really revolved around the song "Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop" by Landon Pigg. This is one of those songs that, when it comes on, all the girls go "Oh, I just love this song!" So I just started wondering. Do boys like that song? Do they ever think, man, this song applies to me! This is exactly what I was thinking when I was in that coffee shop and I saw that girl! Do boys ever think, I am so glad this song was written, because now I know just what to say to my girlfriend? I'll tell her i'm falling quite hard for her! I'll tell her she's beautiful just the way she is! I'll tell her I love it when she smiles at the ground! I'll make sure she knows that I would catch a grenade for her!

Which brings me to another question. Men in Chick Flicks. I know I didn't put a question mark after that, but it will all make sense in a moment. Girls swoon over men in chick flicks. We think, wow! If only I could find a man like that. And then people come forward and tell us that actually, there is no such thing as Ryan Gosling in The Notebook, or Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal (or any manner of Ryan at all!) and what, we're supposed to believe that and just settle with normal, every day men, who will not get rejected by you and then come back giving you second chances and telling you that they "lov-lov-love you and never wish to be parted from you from this day forward." (name the movie!) So I guess my question is, if such a man never existed, then where did the ideas for the movies come from?

And if no men are romantic and sweet, then where did the romantic and sweet song ideas come from?

And this is part 1 of a short collection of essays I will be writing about Society's Misconceptions About Men and the Way They Should or Should Not Act and When These Things Are Appropriate or Not.

(just kidding) (or not? I actually do have a lot to say on that topic.) (I mean, men get sometimes just as much bad attention as women do) (and stuff.) (oh well, I guess if you do want to hear more of my opinions you can comment. otherwise, we're done here until further notice.)

p.s. if you're a really nice boy who i like, and you're reading this, it has absolutely nothing to do with you. but at the same time. DO you think like the songs? it's a valid question, I think.
