Wedding Wednesday, anyone?

I've noticed there is this thing bloggers who are getting married do, and it's that they blog on Wednesday's about their wedding plans. So I thought, well, I barely blog at all anymore, so what if I gave myself some motivation and wrote about my wedding?

Here's the thing. Wedding planning is fun. But it is also not fun. It is full of lots of spending money, and lots of stress about putting everything together in a way that works and is also exactly what you want and also suits everyone else. BUT, I think I've got it under control. I'm actually really really excited about my wedding. First of all, I'm marrying my best friend, cutest boy in the world, who I love so so much. And that's really all I need. So I'm not going to write a second of all.

Anyway, I was going to ask your thoughts about if I should do wedding wednesday or not, but since the only people who comment on this blog are Marie, Jenna, Abi, Anonymous, and sometimes Courtney, I think I'll just assume they would all say yes and go for it. And if there is anyone else who reads this blog who would like to show their pretty faces, I'd be all for that!

The first thing I'll talk to you about is the venue. I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so I'm absolutely thrilled to tell you that the ceremony will be held in the Salt Lake Temple. However, the reception is another matter. When I first found out I was going to be married, in the month of May, I was pretty disappointed as far as venue options for receptions. In Utah the weather is really unpredictable, so it looked like the outdoor wedding in my grandparents orchard was not a possibility. So, I kept my chin up, and immediately booked the Farmington City Arts Center, which is a lovely building. However, a week or so after that, my dad won a trip to Cabo over my wedding date, so I had to change the date, and after doing so, lost the arts center. It was quite a blow.

And then my beautiful friend Lauren stepped in and told me about a barn that just happened to be around the corner from my house! It was cheap, it was available, and it was just what I had always wanted! A reception in a barn! Everything worked out perfectly, and I secured my dreams. So, just picture that in your heads. Me... Alex... and a barn filled with giant smelly hay bales. (Just kidding, those will all be cleaned out by May 4.)

p.s. seriously, i need a blog makeover like, NOW. suggestions?

Also, the barn will be so cute and fun! And it will still feel like your outdoors! That's a win in my book! :)
