this is what life looks like in my neck of the woods. (and that yogurt on the table? divine.) |
Did you guys know that on Teacher Prep Day's, when you conveniently get no school, teachers are ACTUALLY PREPPING? I didn't. I never knew that until I was a teacher. In my self-centered student world, I was just happy for the day off, never considering the work my teacher was doing.
(But to be honest, I don't mind coming into work with no kids... I can get lots of stuff done this way!)
Anyway, yesterday was kind of tough because I found out that my class actually didn't win a pizza party. I don't know if I told you guys about that on the blog, but I definitely announced it triumphantly on twitter, and now I have to hang my head in shame. I mean, they announced it on Friday, but then they decided to announce again that actually a first grade class had won. That just seems kind of shady to me, but I'm not in charge. I guess I'll just have to get over it, but I don't know if I can. This is kind of a low blow.
(maybe I should start asking for donations to a pizza fund on the internet, after explaining the tragedy in a sob story? start a whole new pizza fund blog?)
In other news, this morning on the way to school, I almost hit a lady who ran a red light in front of me! I mean, she stopped like she should at the light, and then she decided to go, like she decided it was a four way stop?
(And by almost hit, I mean I saw what was going to happen from about 200 yards away and started slowing down so it actually wasn't dramatic at all.)
I'm going home this weekend to make a whole bunch of crock pot freezer meals with my mom, and it might be the most home-maker-ish thing I've ever done in my life. Mostly I'm excited to hang out with my mom. But I guess having a whole bunch of pre-made meals will be pretty great in the coming weeks as well.
(This is all assuming I find space for them in my freezer....)
I'M DONE.
(no really though, I'm not done. (name the song))
p.s. what are you doing this weekend????
I am doing the whole slow cooker thing soon too! You should put up recipes of ones you make an d like!
