I'm in Oregon!!!

Here's the thing about Portland. Portland has good food. Portland is known for having especially good food trucks. So, we found a food truck my dad had seen on the travel channel and checked it out! The food truck in question was called Big A** Sandwiches.

Funny story... I've never said a swear word, so I made my mom order for me because I'm a naive and innocent person and my tongue could literally not form the word... I'm going to take this as a good thing about myself and ignore the snickers from the audience. I like my clean mouth, and I'm keeping it there. (side note... it was most likely the first time my mom had ever said "a**" outside the scriptural realm. We like being prudes.)

Also, we went to voodoo doughnuts, but the line was around the block... so stay tuned. We're heading back early in a couple days.

We're seriously staying in the nicest condo/townhome I've ever been in, and I'm not complaining one bit. Right on the beach, two floors... full size kitchen... man! Loving it.

Alex and I spent a full day at the beach on Sunday, just enjoying the beautiful weather. We got a teeny bit sunburned which was less than cool, but now we know for sure it's summer, right?? Alex claims he loves getting burned a little bit... but I'm calling his bluff after watching him layer on the aloe.

And can I just say how awesome it is to finally have time to sit down and read?? I've heard great things about this book and so far I'm not disappointed.

I love Oregon. Oregon is my soul state. I'm declaring that a thing because I can, and a thing it shall be.

p.s. Alex made my brother into a mermaid.

    1. It's about a couple who find a baby and keep it thinking the parents are probably dead, when in reality that's not true. So it's kind of about the consequences of their actions! I'm only halfway through so far, but it's good.

  2. Where are you staying?? My hubby is from Salem, so we're going there next month! We wanted to find a cute place on the beach to stay for a night or two. I think Oregon is my soul state, too. ;)

    1. Oh cool! I lived in Salem when I was younger! We're staying in Seaside and it's gorgeous. You could stay anywhere on the coast though. I'm a huge fan of Seaside and Cannon Beach.
