I'm writing this during lunch.
I'm writing this during lunch because normally I eat lunch with the other cool teachers in the cool teacher work room.
Lately, there have been IMPOSTORS (in the form of children learning) in the cool teacher work room.
Lately, we have all retreated to our classrooms to eat lunch all by our lonely little cool teacher selves. (Are we lonely? This is the question. I for one, really enjoy my alone time. But I also really miss my cool teacher friends. It's a conundrum.)
The weirdest part is, we all KNOW there are impostors in the cool teacher work room. We have all acknowledged it and retreated into our own rooms. Why do we not arrange to meet and have lunch in another space?
I feel puzzled about it, and yet, I feel no real motivation to change.
Being a teacher is very tiring and I am already ready for my three day weekend, please and thank you.
p.s. any cool teacher friends reading this are welcome to come to my room and eat their lunch any time, i mean, if you are puzzled about this turn of events as well.

You rock, cool teacher girl!
ReplyDeleteHaha, well why don't you just tell the kids that that's not their space during lunch?
ReplyDeleteI consider myself a cool teacher friend of yours--and I wish I could come eat lunch with you! I am writing this during lunch. I am eating in my classroom all by my lonely teacher self. Except there are a few cool students hanging in here too because they're cool
ReplyDeleteThe ladies in my department always wanted me to join them for lunch, and I usually did. But the year that my lunch didn't match with theirs was REALLY nice. I loved grading papers, watching Hulu and eating my lunch in my "lonely" room ;)
