yesterday

We all make decisions. Sometimes we regret them, sometimes we don't. Isn't that weird? We just walk around all day deciding things, and once the deciding is done, things happen!

Well, anyway.

After school I had a choice to make. I could go to the Walmart, or I could go home and lay on my couch. Or I could go home, lay on my couch, and THEN go to the Walmart.

Decisions, decisions.

I decided that if I went home and laid on the couch, I absolutely would not be getting up to go to the store. And if I went home and laid on the couch, I wouldn't want to go to the store the next day either. So I bit the bullet (where does that phrase come from?), figured I was already in the car and Walmart was 5 minutes away, and drove over there.

The thing is, once I got to the Walmart, there were even MORE decisions to make! And suddenly I was in a haze! I pushed my cart to one aisle, and then to another, and then realized I had to turn all the way around and go back because I forgot something! And then I had to go back the opposite direction because I forgot another thing! Suddenly I really had to go to the bathroom, my back was aching, and I was pretty sure I would fall asleep while perusing the cream cheese selection. (I chose brown sugar cinnamon. So not good for you, but also so good for you, if you know what I mean.)

I don't know how long I was there. I got in line behind a woman who was buying paint supplies.

Eventually I made it out to my car and drove home.

I chose to carry in all the bags at once, which I did not regret. After that I chose to eat a bagel with that cream cheese I mentioned before, and I did not regret that either.

Finally, I laid on my beloved couch and watched Parenthood until Alex came home at 7 and my mom called me to explain how ridiculous people are in customer service sometimes.

So today I decided to blog about it. I don't know guys. This is my life now.

  3. Ok, so the "bite the bullet" thing comes from days gone by. When someone was injured, or perhaps shot, in the old west, they didn't have anesthesia, so the would have the patient "bite a bullet", literally. Sometimes it might be a stick, or other such. So you "bite the bullet" when making a perceived "painful" decision.

    Love you Boo!
