we can laugh about it now

So you guys, I just have to tell you about last week. I have so many things to tell you, now that I have all that heavy stuff off my chest! I just want to blab on and on about pregnancy and moving and everything else there is, but today I'm just going to tell a story.

The story of last week goes a little something like this:

I've got a lot on my plate. I'm teaching full time, working at after school club for three hours every other day of the week, I'm the first counselor in the Primary presidency, and I signed up for Mary Kay. (Speaking of Mary Kay, if any of you want a free facial, I'm your girl! I literally do not care if you buy anything. I'm always pleasantly surprised when people do! Just know that I don't expect anything, I'm just trying to get experience.)

Anyway. A lot of stuff in all of those areas was going on last week. It was exhausting. I was exhausted! To top that off, my husband had been gone the week before to do a competition in Boston with his mechanical engineering team, and when he came back, he had a cold. A "man cold"... you ladies know what I'm talking about. Anyway, his cold did NOT get better. It got worse. It got so bad I actually acknowledged that he was sick. So I had a ton on my plate, and I felt too bad for Alex to bug him about it. Well, because he was sick, he was getting up a lot in the night to blow his nose, or watch tv, or else was snoring a whole bunch (which I get, I mean, I've been snoring since December, thanks pregnancy rhinitis). So I wasn't getting the best night's sleep.

So here I am, every day last week, worrying about the next thing on my to-do list, constantly feeling on the verge of a breakdown. One day at After school club, I looked down at my hand and a DIAMOND HAD FALLEN OUT OF MY RING. I was shocked! I wandered the hall looking for it, wondering how something like that could have happened. And why that week? Why?!?!

It was my student teacher's last week with me, which was equally as devastating. Teachers need help, people. Especially pregnant teachers who are losing their minds because they have a lot on their plates.

On Thursday, on the spot I had to do my Mary Kay facial party by myself, which I felt totally unprepared for! (It worked out, but it was a bit stressful.)

One night I put ear plugs in so that I could get a good nights sleep, and it worked! All the way up to 5:30 in the morning when I heard loud beeping noises and woke to my bedroom door being flung open and Alex yelling at me to "help him" because the fire alarm was going off. Disoriented, I stumbled downstairs to open a window and saw he had turned the wrong burner on to boil water for his neti pot. #stuffynoseclub

When I got to school on Friday, I put my lunch in the refrigerator. When it was lunch time, I opened the fridge and it was not there. I felt like I must have lost my mind. Maybe I had left it in my bag in the classroom? So I went back to check. Nope, not there. I went back to the fridge thinking maybe I had just missed it. There were three tupperwares in there that looked like mine, but did not hold the right contents. I was in a haze! Where had my lunch gone?! I checked the freezer and the microwaves... nothing. My lunch literally disappeared. When I got in my car to go get myself something to eat, I must say I cried. It just all seemed too much.

After school, my lunch was back in the fridge with the three other tupperwares. I don't know who had it. Whoever you are, you made a pregnant hungry woman really sad. I'm sure it was an accident.

Anyway, It was just one of THOSE weeks, ya know? I'm not one for complaining, but now it's all pretty funny. And though I'm still just as stressed, this week is a lot better. I mean, I got my ring fixed and back, free of charge, and Alex graduates this weekend. So. Summer is on it's way, folks.

back, and sparkling!

  1. I'm loving that you are blogging so much AND that your life is so exciting. I'm so sorry about your bad week. Satan is real, man. Alex is almost done with school for the semester right? Is he doing anything during the summer? Only a few more weeks left of school! You can do it!

    1. Thanks! I'm probably just doing too much and need to take it easy, but I figure school ends in a few weeks and then it will be fine!! Alex graduates today, and I will blog all about our summer plans ASAP! Blogging! Yay!
