So I've just been thinking a lot, about this blog and all that jazz... and here's the thing. I love blogging, I really do. I love having a place to write down my thoughts, and my life, and keep a record of ME. You know, for all posterity and what have you.
I've had this blog for a while now. Quite a while, actually. And my life has changed exponentially throughout the years. It's fun to be able to look back three years ago and see what I was thinking and feeling, and it makes this whole blogging thing feel very worth it. It's amazing to be able to go month by month and see all your little epiphanies, your hard times, your good times, funny stories, dumb stories... everything that has culminated up to today, writing this post. Simply amazing.
But try as I might, I can't help but wonder... does anyone else care? Who is out there reading this? Who is out there clicking on this blog and simply clicking off because to them it's not that great? But who are the people who come back day after day to see if I've written something new? Who are all the anonymous readers out there, not commenting, but having thoughts about what I write nonetheless? I would love to have my blog be more of an interactive space. One where we can share thoughts on life, and how to muddle through it all. Blogs are such a great place to help each other out, form connections and share ideas.
So I guess what I'm wondering is, how can I connect better with all of you out there? What can I do to make this space more inviting? What is it that brings you back?
And further more, I'm wondering if the p.s. thing is a little outdated? I'm wondering if it's time for this blog to grow up?
And if you couldn't tell, comments would be appreciated. :) Come one, come all, let's talk!
p.s. see what i mean about the p.s.?

I love your blog. It keeps me in the loop!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! Probably my very favorite thing about your blog is how honest and real your posts are. When I come to your blog I don't feel the need to punch you in the face cause you're not the cliché blogger that seems to be bombarding the blog world =)
ReplyDeleteI think you are a wonderful writer - keep it coming!
You KNOW I love your blog! I cried buckets when I read your story...how will I know what is going on with you, and experience your life in absentia if you don't blog???
ReplyDelete:(
Remember how at first we were basically just blog friends and then we became real friends? Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure if your blog was lame, that wouldn't have happened. So don't worry about changing a thing.
ReplyDeleteand the p.s. thing is genius.
Also, I've heard that if you comment on lot of other blogs and comment back to your own readers, then your whole blogosphere life will become much more interactive. So there's some advice, I guess.
p.s. thanks for giving me all your stuff yesterday.
I love your blog. I'm kinda a blog lover and spend more time than most teenage girls do on blogger. Your blog is one of the favorites and I also like that I sorta kinda almost know you. That's fun too.
ReplyDeleteSo I appreciate your blog and am glad you post to it on a somewhat regular basis, and if you stop, I will be annoyed and bored at work.
ReplyDeleteIf you want it to be more interactive, you could consider some topical discussion posts? Things that are on your mind, or situations that you encounter?
I have had these same thoughts! Can our blogs intertwine sometime? I think we should do that. Guest postings and such? I am thinking this will be a good time.
ReplyDeleteUmm YES. Hello best idea ever. Lets help each other out here!
DeleteYour grandpa and I love to read your blog! It keeps us connected to you and helps us know you better. Please don't drop the P.S.! It's your signature statement and is unique to you. Love you, Madeline!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! Even though I don't always find the time to read them all, when I do read it, it makes me love you all the more! Just think how valuable your blogs will be to future posterity. :) P.S. Keep the P.S. :)
