perks of being a teacher? cute photo props. also, kissing picture! yay! |
Heyyyy it's me. Madeline. The girl who write this blog? Yeah. Here I am again. Blogging away. Mostly because I just feel like writing. My husband left for work and he said, "whatever you do, be productive!" I think he worries about me just wiling away my time here in this little cottage house. The thing is, I go through stages. One day, I'm super excited to get down to business cleaning, and cooking, and planning. But then the next I'm just like ehhh... my bed is super comfy and my computer has everything I need.
Do you know what I mean? Do you?
But today! Today do you know what I will do? Well first, let's talk about what I've already done. Because obviously a whole day happened before I sat down here. I woke up and went over to the school and talked to the other teachers while my handsome hubby put together my floor-to-ceiling-tree-of-knowledge. I know. I'll post pictures of it maybe someday probably. And then I wrote numbers on everything in my classroom. And then we got a pizza and watched Gilmore Girls.
So I think that alone was pretty productive. To cap it all off, I'm going to write on my blog which I've decided to get serious about, and then I'm going to eat some cheetos. And then I'm going to finish off my last batch of thank you cards!!!! Go me! three months after the wedding! (Let's be honest... I think the only person I've ever got a prompt thank you card from was Jenna, so, it's all good. Those babies are HARD to crank out when you've got a couple hundred to write. Or maybe I'm just lazy? Anyway.)
I'm just saying. It's Friday, right?
So let's finish off this little rambler with some Good Things.
1. Good and nice comments on the blog!! yay! I love you all! I'm blowing kissed and throwing flowers at your feet!
2. Wearing new pants. I tried to make myself hold out until school started but they were calling my name. No, singing my name actually. It was very hypnotic and I gave in.
3. I finished this book. And I started this book. All because once upon a time I read this book. Which all of you should do too. Seriously. That last one is a MUST.
4. The fan that we have had blowing on us constantly all summer is still working.
5. I got a letter in the mail from a good friend.
6. The bachelorette ends on Monday. Finally.
7. Having low-key movie nights with the husband is always a good thing.
8. Otter pops in the freezer. Now the only problem is self-control....
That's all for now, folks! Have a lovely weekend!
p.s. I can't believe i'm going back to school in two weeks! so weird.
I am all nostalgic reading about you getting your classroom ready...I used to have a big tree in my room too! It was so fun, because it can stay up all year and you can use it in soooo many ways...awesome! Have a wonderful year, Mrs. Casey! No more Miss Madeline! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I'm gonna post about the last three of your posts. 1. I like your blog. I don't know you personally but I stumbled here from Unencumbered Words, and you and Jenna are great. Your P.S. idea is still good, too. : ] 2. I'm a teacher in training going to grad school, so I haven't done a first day yet, but you should remember that kids aren't thinking you're full of nerves. They're just ready to hear what you have to say and they will do whatever you need them to do. And 3. I'm so glad to read that you watch Gilmore Girls with your husband. It's the best.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know I'm reading your blog. : ]

Ummm... I never got a thank you card? Even after I was so prompt at getting one to you after my bridal shower? and baby shower? So... I guess you're not thankful? Even though my letter was so heartfelt and sincere and nice and whatnot?
ReplyDeleteOkay. Whatever. See you tomorrow.
