this is new... for me, anyway.

Review a book, place, or product.

I don't blog about fashion. I mentioned my love of Nordstrom once, and if you look back to early 2011-2012 posts, every now and then you'll find an outfit post. This is not to say that I would NEVER blog about fashion. On the contrary! I'm actually a huge fan of personal style, and I love seeing what other people wear. I would really enjoy posting pictures of what I wear, and if you check out my instagram - sometimes I do! However... there's this whole thing of not having a good camera (I keep forgetting to steal my sister's nice one while she's on her mission), and then also the whole thing of not having a tripod, and not having anyone to photograph me. Hence all the lovely selfies all you people get to deal with!

However, today for blogtember, I'm supposed to write a review of a book, place or product. While normally I probably would have chosen to review a book (you should all read What Alice Forgot!), because I'm a reader like that, I remembered that this cute little company called Prairie Charms asked me to check out their shop a while back and review it if I wanted to. So, this is the perfect opportunity, is it not? A perfect time for me to step out of my comfort zone and do something I never do! Yay!

Without further ado... what is it with triangles lately? Suddenly they are the most attractive shape. I see them everywhere, and I have also fallen under their spell. There's something so sharp and modern about them, as well as being unexpected. So when I was perusing the Prairie Charms selection, I was drawn to this triangle necklace. I love the gold chain and the black sparkles next to each other. It's fun, but also a little bit fancy. The sparkly black really kicks the look up a notch, I like to think. I'm not a huge jewelry person, to be honest. I need to get a whole lot better at accessorizing, so it was nice to have this necklace and think about what I could pair it with! I wore it with this red sweater and black skinnies (which you can't see, because of the whole selfie thing), but I think it's probably pretty versatile.

So there you have it. Check out Prairie Charms! Their packaging was the cutest thing ever, especially since it came all the way across the ocean. I loved opening it. It was like a present for Christmas! And if you know me at all, you know I've got some majorly strong feelings for Christmas. They have some lovely flower wreaths for your head if you're into that kind of thing. And I also got a pretty red bow belt, which I love... but again, the whole photography thing. If you would like to take pictures of me, let me know!

p.s. i'm loving this crisp fall air. I want to make pumpkin flavored everything and drive home with the windows down for months to come! and speaking of fall, who's with me that fall pinterest is better than any other pinterest? Stay tuned for some fun pinterest collaborations going on in the next couple weeks...
